The ranking of the 200 largest enterprises in the country, a traditional publication of “Monitor” for more than a decade, is a reflection of the unsustainable development model faced by the Albanian economy, which emerged more prominently during the pandemic.
Even in the 2020 ranking, commercial enterprises of imported products or fuels dominate and there are very few manufacturing businesses.
Ironically, in the list of 10 largest companies in Albania, there are two companies, which make only transit invoices for third parties, while in Serbia and Macedonia dominate enterprises that produce parts for vehicles, pharmaceutical products, etc., with a large number of employees of high value-added exports.
